Design and exclusivity
Modern architecture with transparent design and an open construction is becoming more and more popular with discerning customers. Connections between outdoors and indoors are allowed. The rooms are networked with one another and made to be usable for a wide range of purposes. Hence, new apartments, houses and villas are built with open living concepts and maximum incidence of light. This exclusive architectural style can be realised extremely well with design sliding systems.
The minimal windows® concept by KELLER AG is a virtually frameless sliding system with universally insulated aluminium frame profiles into which very large panes of glass are set.
The system offers all conceivable sliding variants extending up to 4-track systems and corner-post-free internal and external corners.
The sliding leaves can be manufactured up to a height of 4 m and with a leaf area of up to 8.5 m*. Fixed glass fields can be built with areas of up to 18 m*.
The slender facing width of the leaf profile is only 21 mm but still ensures high static stability.
The maximum leaf weight is 500 kg. The extreme ease of movement of the optimised roller/ rail system enables the comfortable, manual movement of large glass areas.
According to the individual system configuration, concealed electric drives and locks can be used to increase operating comfort.
The peripheral frame profiles can be fully installed into the wall and floor. The floor area is free of bothersome thresholds and thus barrier-free.
The floor profile with the integrated stainless steel rail has a smooth surface and is insensitive to dirt, easy to care for and maintenance-free.
The transmission of the leaf weight to the floor guide represents the decisive design detail of high-performance sliding systems. The use of stainless steel rails and stainless steel rollers is the highest quality solution conceivable, due to which high operational reliability and durability are guaranteed.
The required high-performance roller carriages were not available on the market in the desired quality and were therefore newly developed by KELLER AG. They are concealed in the lower leaf profile. The stainless steel ball bearings and rollers ensure the easy movement of even very large sliding leaves.
The minimal windows® design sliding system has a relatively low, design-related installation height in the base point of only about 70 mm with controlled downward drainage. Hence, the system is particularly suitable for renovation projects with low floor structures.
The high-quality 2-point locking system developed by KELLER AG offers burglar resistance and is approved in accordance with RC2. Ventilation can take place by manual slot-aeration or by electric opening of the sliding leaf.
2-pane insulation glass with a maximum glass thickness of up to 34 mm is normally used in KELLER minimal windows®.
Uw values of ≥ 1.1 W/m*K can be achieved with today’s standard insulation glass (Ug= 1.0 W/m*K), thus contributing to the saving of energy.
The quality of the system meets the highest requirements – ‘Made in Luxembourg’ – and guarantees maximum protection against driving rain and wind loads.
KELLER minimal windows®4+ represents the highly insulated series of the system for the use of triple glazing. With the 4 additional (4+) outstanding characteristics, new standards are set in design sliding systems.
